Millicent Wilson, MD. - Medical Advisor
Dr. Millicent Wilson is a Disaster Training Specialist for the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency, where she provides education and training in all aspects of bioterrorism and disaster preparedness to physicians and other healthcare workers. She is a certified instructor in both Advanced Hazmat Life Support and Advanced Disaster Life Support, as well as a number of other recognized life support programs. Dr. Wilson is also a Medical Supervisor for Los Angeles County's Medical Alert Center, serving a county of approximately 10 million people, and was recently appointed to the California State Catastrophic Earthquake Planning Committee. She also has worked closely with Public Health and the United States Post Office in their Anthrax Biodetection System training and Mass Prophylaxis drills and exercises.
Sandra Stark Shields, LMFT, CTS - Program Manager
Sandra Stark Shields is a Senior Disaster Services Analyst for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Emergency Medical Services Agency. She is responsible for the disaster mental health and volunteer program deliverables for the National Hospital Preparedness Program. Over the past 17 years, Sandra has participated in more than 20 major disaster operations, from Hurricane Andrew and the Northridge earthquake, to the L.A. riots and coordination of the local mental health response to the September 11th terrorist attacks. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine and an M.A. in Clinical Art Therapy/ Marriage and Family Counseling from Loyola Marymount University.
